Madison Henry is a Research Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in the Language Rehabilitation and Cognition Lab at the University of Pittsburgh. She completed her undergraduate and graduate education at the University of Pittsburgh. She worked for five years in clinical practice at UPMC Montefiore, Presbyterian, and Passavant Hospitals in acute care and inpatient rehabilitation, with a focus on treating patients with neurogenic communication and swallowing disorders. Through these clinical experiences, she saw firsthand how important research is to developing translational aphasia treatments that improve communication effectiveness and quality of life for people with aphasia. Her clinical background and passion for working with people with aphasia led to her current role on Dr. Will Evans's team, working on two NIH-funded clinical trials focused on adaptive computer-based language treatments for stroke survivors with aphasia.
