Rob Cavanaugh is a second year Ph.D. student in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. Before moving to Pittsburgh, he worked as a clinical speech-language pathologist in Charlotte, NC, helping people recover from stroke and traumatic brain injury. His research interests focus on identifying implementation gaps in aphasia rehabilitation via real-world clinical data, improving patient access to therapy services through technology, identifying person and practice related predictors of treatment success, and using advanced methods such as statistical learning and data science to improve aphasia rehabilitation. Rob received his masters degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
